“He who sins IS OF THE DEVIL, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been BORN OF GOD DOES NOT SIN, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin (hamartanō: to wander from the path of uprightness, to do wrong), because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness (dikaiosunē: living in right relationship with God) IS NOT OF GOD, nor is he who DOES NOT LOVE HIS BROTHER.” (1 John 3:8-10)
One who is “BORN OF GOD” does not sin; does this mean he CANNOT SIN? No, it means he chooses not to sin!
There are a lot of people who go to church, read their bible, live good lives, may have even gotten baptized! But they have never surrendered their lives to Christ!!! They are not born again!
In the parable of the TEN VIRGINS Jesus said ½ of them ARE NOT SAVED, read Matthew 25:1-13. “Five (1\2) of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.” (Matthew 25:2-3) Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you; I DON’T KNOW YOU.” (Matthew 25:12)
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
