WOUNDING WORDS!

“Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; IT TENDS ONLY TO EVIL.” (Psa. 37:8)

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life.

“I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle…” (Psa. 39:1)

Anger can make you feel as though you’re at the mercy of an UNPREDICTABLE AND POWERFUL EMOTION, that may motivate us to say hurtful things to the ones we love.

Anyone who is patient has great understanding. But anyone who gets angry quickly SHOWS HOW FOOLISH HE IS.” (Pro. 14:29)

The devil loves to tempt us to lash out when things are not going as we think they should go. James taught us that we should:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces 1perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (Jam. 1:2-4) 1power of continuing to do what is right, despite difficulties.

Let’s remember what Solomon taught us:

Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” (Pro. 16:32)

Let’s seek God for the power to do what’s right…Bill Stockham
