WILL, DAVID SAID; I’M LISTENING LORD…

BOW DOWN YOUR EAR, O LORD, hear me; Preserve my life, for I am holy; You are my God; SAVE YOUR SERVANT WHO TRUSTS IN YOU! Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You ALL DAY LONG. Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. (Psa. 86:1-4) David used expressive language to speak of his need. The idea – figurative, of course – is that God in heaven BOWS HIS HEAD TO EARTH TO HEAR DAVID’S PLEA for help. When our ALL DAY LONGprayers are lowly by reason of our humility, or feeble by reason of our sickness, the Lord will BOW DOWN TO THEM, the infinitely exalted LORD GOD ALMIGHTY will have respect for our prayers!!! Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I WILL CALL UPON YOU, For YOU WILL ANSWER ME. (Psa. 86:6-7)

After the request, David then gave God reasons why his prayer should be answered. David thought carefully in his prayer, and PRESENTED REQUESTS AND REASONS to God. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths, from the realm of the dead. Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me— they have no regard for you. But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, SLOW TO ANGER, ABOUNDING IN LOVE and faithfulness. Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you JUST AS MY MOTHER DID.(Psa. 86:13-16) David learned from Nitzevet, his mother, to stand proud and dignified, feeling consolation in communicating with his God in the open pastures.

David prayed, Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame…

FOR YOU, LORD, HAVE HELPED ME AND COMFORTED ME…(Psalms 86:17)
