“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, HAIL, THOU THAT ART HIGHLY FAVOURED, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for THOU HAST FOUND FAVOUR WITH GOD. And, behold, THOU SHALT CONCEIVE IN THY WOMB, and bring forth a son, and SHALT CALL HIS NAME JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called THE SON OF THE HIGHEST: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: AND HE SHALL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB FOREVER; and OF HIS KINGDOM THERE SHALL BE NO END.” (Luke 1:26-33)
[Two natures are always prominent in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior: the HUMAN NATURE, in reference to which he is the Son of God and inferior to God, and the DIVINE NATURE which was from eternity, and equal to God!] And…
“Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called HOLY–THE SON OF GOD.” (Luke 1:34-35)
[“I AM A VIRGIN” – Mary was covenanted to Joseph, but not yet joined in marriage, she knew that this conception could not take place; and she modestly inquires by what means the promise of the angel is to be fulfilled.]
“…with God NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE.” (Luke 1:37)
[IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD? As there can be no doubt that Mary supposed this reference to the promise and birth of Isaac [Geneses 18:14], so she must have had her faith considerably strengthened by being reminded that this was God’s divine intervention for her and His wonderful, amazing and of course very awesome gift for us all!!!]
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:
NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR THE LORD, EVER!
