“PRAISE BE TO THE LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. HE IS MY LOVING GOD AND MY FORTRESS, MY STRONGHOLD AND MY DELIVERER, MY SHIELD, IN WHOM I TAKE REFUGE, who subdues peoples under me. LORD, WHAT ARE HUMAN BEINGS THAT YOU CARE FOR THEM, MERE MORTALS THAT YOU THINK OF THEM?” (Psalms 144:1-4)
David praises God, his rock and acknowledges that it was God who trained him to be prepared for war. Then David expresses his love to God by referring to Him as his FORTRESS, STRONGHOLD, DELIVERER, SHIELD in whom David may take refuge. Then David asks a very interesting question, WHY, OH GOD, DO YOU CARE ABOUT US? WE ARE JUST MERE MORTALS, UNFAITHFUL, UNRELIABLE, DISOBEDIENT AND SELFISH. Why do you put up with us? Very fair question, the answer, “…God SO GREATLY LOVED and dearly prized the world, that HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
SO, JUST BELIEVE AND RECEIVE HIS LOVE…
