“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalms 42:11)
We know how it is, we can be having such a wonderful and blessed day having read the word, prayed and feeling such joy! Then ‘wham’ something happens, someone says something negative about us and we fall into discouragement! If we could hear the spirit world around us we would hear a lion roaring and laughing.
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, SEEKING SOMEONE TO DEVOUR.” (1 Peter 5:8)
Now remember a lion does not roar as he is about to pursue his prey, he lets out his victory roar after he captures his prey! So, how do we know we have been captured? DISCOURAGEMENT! It does not come from God, for He is the one who blesses us with such joy!
“The thief [the devil] comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so they CAN HAVE LIFE. I want them to have it in THE FULLEST POSSIBLE WAY.” (John 10:10)
The next time this happens, as soon as you begin to feel that discouragement…
“PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD” He will bless us in the FULLEST POSSIBLE WAY!
