“I don’t do the good things I want to do. I KEEP ON DOING THE EVIL THINGS I DON’T WANT TO DO…O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” (Rom. 7:19-24)
Paul is sharing his experience of being pulled into a sinful life before the Lord revealed sanctification to him. So, the next words he wrote were: “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus HAS SET YOU FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND OF DEATH.” (Rom. 8:1-2)
By the blood of Jesus we are set free from and are no longer slaves to sin, this is sanctification…
“…knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him (Jesus), in order that OUR BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DONE AWAY WITH, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin…” (Rom. 6:6)
CONSIDER YOURSELVES TO BE DEAD TO SIN, BUT ALIVE TO GOD IN CHRIST JESUS…
