“…a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For HE WHO IS LEAST AMONG YOU ALL WILL BE GREAT.“ (Luke 9:46-48)
To the world, greatness is achieved through self-promotion, and recognition or acclaim from others. Those aspiring to be great think in terms of “making a name” for themselves by their accomplishments so that others will praise, applaud, and admire them. Listen to what the Word says about this, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, THE LOVE OF THE FATHER IS NOT IN HIM. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and THE PRIDE OF LIFE—IS NOT OF THE FATHER BUT IS OF THE WORLD. And the world is passing away…” (1 John 2:15-16) So, what must we do? “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and HE WILL LIFT YOU UP.” (James 4:10)
THERE’S NOTHING BETTER THAN BEING LIFTED UP BY JESUS…
