God is our Fear–buster (this goes to the tune of ghostbuster)… (buster; protomí̱: to cause harm, injury, or destruction to something harmful.)
♫Fear-buster!
If there’s something fearful
In your neighborhood
Who you gonna call?
Fear-buster!
“…God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.” (2 Tim. 1:7)The word of God says that God has not given us a SPIRIT OF FEAR. If God has not given us a spirit of fear, then WHO HAS? The enemy of God, SATAN HAS. FEAR IS AGAINST FAITH. The fear that comes from the enemy is tormenting.
Remember the coronavirus, or COVID-19, it incited panic for a number of reasons. It’s a new virus, meaning no one has immunity, and there is no vaccine. Its novelty means that scientists aren’t sure yet how it behaves — they have little history to go on. Just a short while ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) labeled the virus as a pandemic. Measures are being taken that are unprecedented in recent history: schools are closing, sports teams aren’t playing, vacations are canceled, family gatherings rescheduled. Although these preventative actions are for good reason, they can also partly explain why PEOPLE ARE GOT SO WORRIED.
The Lord comforted with these words: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; DO NOT BE AFRAID, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is WITH YOU wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9) So many people are afraid to surrender to God, because the devil puts fear in their hearts. The Bible informs us about the PROTECTION OF GOD. As humans, we want to see God’s protection as a magic force field that keeps us from all harm. Yes, God can prevent any evil or destruction but we must remember that we live in a fallen world where we have free will and often do as we please. Many times, God works in ways that we do not understand. Sometimes God’s protection comes in the form of PEACE AND STRENGTH in the middle of despair. Other times God’s protection comes as an ending of something old in our life because God sees the beginning of something new on the horizon that we cannot see.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy we are KEPT BY THE POWER OF GOD through faith though now for a little while, if need be, you have been GRIEVED BY (coronavirus) TRIALS, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more PRECIOUS THAN GOLD that perishes, though it is tested by fire, MAY BE FOUND TO PRAISE, HONOR, AND GLORY AT THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST…” (1 Peter 1:3-7)
