Jesus is speaking this to the Jewish people, “So WHEN YOU SEE the ‘ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” (Mark 13:14) Danial spoke of this about what the “antichrist” does, “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week (week of years a seven year period); But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations (the abomination of desolation) shall be one who makes desolate, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.” (Dan. 9:27)
Wait, I thought we would be gone (“caught up”) when this happens! Yes we will, “…the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only HE WHO NOW RESTRAINS (katechō: holds back. That is the Holy Spirit through God’s Church) will do so until HE IS TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY (“caught up”). And THEN the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” (2 Thess. 2:7-8) The Jew’s rejected Jesus as their savior, as a result they will make a covenant with the “antichrist” and will be further deceived…While we are at the SEVEN YEAR Marriage Supper of the Lamb!!!
