Choose victory or choose defeat Amanda, “The LORD will conquer your enemies when THEY ATTACK YOU. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from y ou in seven!” (Deut. 28:7) As God’s children, we are privileged to have His covering, His protection, and His guidance with us continually. So even though we might be attacked physically or emotionally by one way or another, God’s word assures us that our enemies will flee before us in seven ways.
Now are there exceptions to this promise? “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If ANYONE loves the world, the love of the Father IS NOT IN HIM. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—IS NOT OF THE FATHER but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15-17) Now if we make the choice to love the world and become involved in “worldly” things that are NOT OF THE FATHER, we have put ourselves under the devils control. We have then removed ourselves from God’s protection and we will experience what the children of Israel did when they turned away from God!
The first step of true repentance is turning back towards God Amanda. This is the change of direction that’s needed! When we turn toward God we turn to the one who can bring a REAL CHANGE in our lives— God. So, pray like David prayed, “Have mercy upon me, O God, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.” (Psa. 51:1-2)
