“For as a man thinks in his heart, SO IS HE…” (Prov. 23:7) What are you thinking about, is it pornography? Are you desiring to possess things you cannot afford? Do you have violent thoughts? Are you thinking thoughts about how you can get back at someone? “…the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for PULLING DOWN 1STRONGHOLDS, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY to the obedience of Christ…” (2 Corin. 10:4-5) 1ochurōma: strong defense.
When we allow all kinds of negative thoughts and images into our minds, they need to be “PULLED DOWN” (kathaírō: make clean by purging). Remember we are talking about the “weapons of our warfare”. “I will NOT be conformed to this world: but I will be transformed (metamorphoō) by the renewing of my mind, that I MAY PROVE what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rom. 12:2) The Holy Spirit of God does a metamorphous miracle in that our “form” is changed from a person who is motivated and driven by the sin nature to one who is motivated and driven by a godly nature.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW.” (2 Corin. 5:17) So, we can now pray,
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” (Psa. 19:14)
