WHAT’S NEXT?

“He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” (Psa. 23:3)

Before we move on to the next assignment, let’s take a moment to be restored! We must be fresh and renewed in our journey with the Lord. As we are seeking to do God’s will it is so important for us to carefully listen:

Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I WAIT ALL THE DAY.” (Psa. 25:4-5)

We live in a “let’s not wait” society, you know, hurry up and get it done! This could be dangerous because the devil would love for us to get impatient and miss God’s will for our life. So, let us examine this verse:

“For You I 1WAIT ALL THE DAY The key word here is wait as we will see in the scripture there are three levels of wait

“If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard work I will 2wait for the time when you give me new life.” (Job 14:14) 2yaw-chal: to be patient, hope to trust. Like sitting and waiting for a bus! Then, pertaining to the Levites:

“…from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to 3wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:” (Num. 8:24) 3tsaw-baw’: to preform or serve.

These uses of the word wait do not describe what David is explaining in verse 5: 1kaw-vaw’: to bind together by twisting, to join in intimacy. So, what David is saying I am joining together with you, in an intimate relationship, so I will clearly know your direction for my life! Now, let me tell you, that kind of intimacy, will certainly restore our soul.

Our experience of God’s nearness or distance is not a description of His actual proximity to us, but of our experience of intimacy with Him. Scripture shows us that God is intimate with those who trust him. The more we trust God, the more intimately we come to know him.

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.” (Psa. 73:28)

Then, as James states: “Come near to God and HE WILL COME NEAR TO YOU…” (Jam. 4:8)

Let us give it all to our Abba Father…Bill Stockham
