“Lord, I am not proud and haughty. I don’t think myself better than others. I don’t pretend to “know it all.” I am quiet now before the Lord, just as a child who is weaned from the breast. Yes, my begging has been stilled…you too should quietly TRUST IN THE LORD—now, and always.” (Psalms 131:1-3)
WHAT IS DAVID SAYING Amanda?
- DAVID AIMED AT NOTHING HIGH OR GREAT: This was David’s rejoicing, that his heart could witness for him that he had walked humbly with his God. “The LORD has sought for Himself a man (David) after HIS OWN HEART...” (1 Sam. 13:14)
- DAVID WAS VERY AT EASE IN EVERY CONDITION WHICH GOD ALLOWED HIM IN: Whatever he did and wherever God wanted him to be, David, “…would GIVE THANKS to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psa. 107:8)
- DAVID ENCOURAGES ALL GOOD PEOPLE TO TRUST IN GOD JUST AS HE DID: David told Saul, “Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has DEFILED the armies of the living God.” (1 Sam. 17:36)
You must remember this Amanda, “Whatever you do, do it with ALL YOUR HEART, as working for the Lord…” (Col. 3:23)
