“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you WILL, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to GIVE YOU A FUTURE AND A HOPE. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I WILL LISTEN TO YOU. “…the LORD will take care of me. Teach me YOUR WAY, O LORD, And lead me in a smooth path…” (Psa. 27:10-11) David does not pray to be pampered with his own way, but to be informed as to the path in which the righteous LORD would have him walk.
Jesus taught us this very familiar prayer, “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On (I pray “In earth” [we are earthen vessels], because we know that God’s will is not and can’t, at this time, be done on earth, because “Satan, is the god of this world…” (2 Corin. 4:4).) earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And DO NOT LEAD US INTO TEMPTATION, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” (Matt. 6:9-13)
