As Christians AMY, it’s important for us to understand the meaning behind the phrase “The Kingdom of God” It is often confusing for many Christians and non-Christians. If someone asked you what the kingdom of God meant, would you know how to answer them? “Now when Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God IS WITHIN YOU.” (Luke 17:20-21) Well, just what is the Kingdom of God?
“…the kingdom of God is…RIGHTEOUSNESS and PEACE and JOY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.” (Rom. 14:17) Not only that AMY but, “…the kingdom of God is POWER.” (1 Corin. 4:20) Jesus explains further in the “parable of the weeds” “Jesus said, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the SONS OF THE KINGDOM, the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of HIS KINGDOM those that offend, and practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the KINGDOM OF THEIR FATHER. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matt. 13:37-43)
