“…God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of POWER, LOVE, and SOUND MIND. So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord…For God saved us and CALLED US TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was HIS PLAN FROM BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF TIME—to show us HIS GRACE through Christ Jesus.” (2 Tim. 1:7-9) What does it mean “before the beginning of time” Well consider this statement, “…beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Pet. 3:8) The psalmist says it this way, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past…” (Psalms 90:4) Solomon said this is wisdom talking, “The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, BEFORE THERE WAS EVER AN EARTH.” (Prov. 8:22-23)
The point is this, God has very meticulously planned our lives, what His purpose is for us and how He will accomplish it in us. So, when we reject the calling of God we’re rejecting a perfect plan. God absolutely and positively knows what is best for us. We need to SEEK HIM, for His plan, for our lives. “Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteousness from the God of His salvation. This is the generation of those WHO SEEK HIM, Who SEEK YOUR (God’s) FACE. Selah” (Psa. 24:3-6)
