This is Peter who denied that he knew the Lord, then repented and became a very anointed Apostle, greatly used by God. The sick were laid on the streets so the, “…shadow of Peter might overshadow them…and they were healed everyone.” (Acts 5:15-16) Then Peter wrote these very blessed words, “Grace and peace be MULTIPLIED to you in the knowledge (epignōsis: intimately knowing) of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us ALL THINGS that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE, having ESCAPED THE CORRUPTION that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:2-4)
Our Divine Nature, “God said, “LET US (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) make man in OUR IMAGE (exactly reflecting its source), according to OUR LIKENESS (a specific representation of God on earth)…” (Gen. 1:26) God created us to respond like, live like and love like God. Paul expresses it like this, “…we do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may WALK WORTHY OF THE LORD, FULLY PLEASING HIM, being fruitful in every good work and INCREASING in the knowledge (epignōsis: intimacy) of God…” (Col. 1:9-10)
