“With what shall I come before the LORD…Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings…Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams…He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But TO DO JUSTLY, TO LOVE MERCY, And TO WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD…” (Micah 6:6-8)
- DO JUSTLY:God is defined by His justice. Often when we see the word justice, it’s used alongside the word “righteousness” as in: “The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love”(Psalm 33:5). “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you”(Psalm 89:14).
- LOVE MERCY:A word used throughout the Old Testament to refer to the unique love God has for His people. It is a call for us to return to the covenant to mirror God’s faithfulness.
- WALK HUMBLY:Walking is more than a way of getting from one place to another.Especially when it is used in the Old Testament. It is symbolic of relationship.God says to the people of Israel in the desert,“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people”(Leviticus 26:12) “…we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.” (Micah 4:5)
“LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU which was also in Christ Jesus, who…
HUMBLED HIMSELF AND BECAME OBEDIENT TO THE POINT OF DEATH…(Phil. 2:5-8)
