WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS?

“I chose you, and appointed you that YOU WOULD GO AND BEAR FRUIT, and that your fruit would remain, SO that WHATEVER YOU ASK of the Father in My name HE MAY GIVE TO YOU. “This I COMMAND YOU, that YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER.” (John 15:16-17) “…just as I HAVE LOVED YOU!” (V. 12)

There are some very important conditions on our receiving “whatever we ask!” This scripture has caused quite a bit of controversy because of not rightly dividing the word. Let’s see…

          We must…

  1. go and bear fruit and it must remain
  2. love one another, as Christ loves
  3. believe in Jesus
  4. ask according to the works that I do
  5. be obedient to His word

“What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who has faith in me WILL DO WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING. In fact, he will do EVEN GREATER THINGS. That is because I am going to the Father. “And I will do anything you ask in my name. Then the Son WILL BRING GLORY TO THE FATHER. You may ask me for anything in my name. I WILL DO IT.(John 14:12-14)

Jesus went on to inform us:

“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and MAKE OUR HOME WITH THEM.” (John 14:23)

A man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter and John looked straight at him:

Then Peter said, “Look at us!” Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, WALK.”…INSTANTLY THE MAN’S FEET AND ANKLES BECAME STRONG. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging…and they were FILLED WITH WONDER AND AMAZEMENT at what had happened to him.” (Acts 3:2-10)

God will be glorified by our belief and faith in Him…Bill Stockham
