“May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us, that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to WALK IN ALL HIS WAYS, and to KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers…Let your heart therefore BE LOYAL TO THE LORD OUR GOD, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.” (1 Kings 8:57-58, 61) It’s a wonderful life when we know, believe, pray and LIVE THE WORD OF GOD. It’s a wonderful life when we know that to love God is to open ourselves up to how much He really loves us. It’s a wonderful life when we’re free to be real.
Jesus, “…poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter, “Lord, are You washing my feet?” Jesus said, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.” Peter said, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Peter said, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!” (John 13:5-9) Jesus had just washed the disciples’ feet and he said, “You call me teacher, and Lord, and you are right. For so I am. If I then, your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet, YOU ALSO OUGHT TO WASH ONE ANOTHER’S FEET.” This was just one example Jesus left for us to humble ourselves to one another, perform an act of kindness and pray for one another. “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ HAS FORGIVEN YOU.” (Eph. 4:31-32)
