“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the SOURCE OF ALL COMFORT. He comforts us in all our troubles so that WE CAN COMFORT OTHERS. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the SAME COMFORT God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more GOD will SHOWER US with HIS COMFORT through Christ.” (2 Corin. 1:3-5)
So, just how will the Lord comfort us? “Those the LORD has rescued WILL RETURN. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and SORROW AND SIGHING WILL FLEE AWAY. “I, even I, am HE WHO COMFORTS YOU. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass, that you forget the LORD YOUR MAKER, who stretches out the heavens and who lays the foundations of the earth, that you live in CONSTANT TERROR EVERY DAY because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For WHERE IS THE WRATH OF THE OPPRESSOR?” (Isa. 51:11-13) When the Lord God Almighty is our God, there is NO ENEMY that can do us harm…
“…a highway will be there; it will be called THE WAY OF HOLINESS; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But ONLY THE REDEEMED WILL WALK THERE, and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. GLADNESS AND JOY WILL OVERTAKE THEM, and sorrow and sighing WILL FLEE AWAY.” (Isa. 35:8-10)
