“Blessed are those servants whom the master, when He comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that He will gird Himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and SERVE THEM…Therefore you also BE READY, for the Son of Man is COMING AT AN HOUR YOU DO NOT EXPECT.” (Luke 12:37, 40)
In both the old and new testaments we are taught, “…beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Pet. 3:8) “For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.” (Psa. 90:4) Remember this, the Lord’s vantage point is outside of time so, when He says to His disciples when He comes and “finds you watching He will come and serve you…” knowing that will not happen for about 2,000 years, talks about it like it’s “just around the corner.”
Here is what we do know, Jesus said, “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see ALL THESE THINGS, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, THIS GENERATION will by no means PASS AWAY till ALL THESE THINGS TAKE PLACE.” (Matt. 24:32-34) Israel became a nation, for the second time, on May 14th 1948. (The first time is when a second temple was finished in about 516 B.C.) Moses, who wrote the 90th Psalm said, “The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years…” (Psalms 90:10) For people 80 years old or older, life expectancy is greater in the United States than it is in Sweden, France, England, and Japan. This coming May 14th will be 74 years that Israel has come together as a Nation. Remember “All these things” includes the 7 year wrath of God, during which time we will be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb……BE READY
