“…be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour YOU DO NOT EXPECT.” (Matt. 24:44) One of the “signs” spoken of in the scriptures about Christ’s return, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached IN THE WHOLE WORLD as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) From Matt. 24:3 we can see that the context of the passage is the 2nd Coming, not the Rapture.
According to the Ethnologue, (the most authoritative resource on world languages, trusted by academics and Fortune 500 companies alike) there are over 6,900 known languages spoken in the world. Many have been fortunate to have had the Bible translated into their language through ministries such as Wycliffe Bible Translators (note: Calvary partners with Global staff members such as Marilyn Escher and Dave/Mitzi Shinen who are actively helping translate the Bible into languages where God’s Word has not previously been accessible). However, we have still facing many hurdles in terms of translating the Bible into some of the languages that represent “unreached” people groups (the leading authority on the world’s unreached people groups is the Joshua Project).
On the day of Pentecost, many heard the 120 from the upper room, speaking in their native language, “…they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each IN OUR OWN LANGUAGE in which we were born?” (Acts 2:7-8) God can do that again at any time now!!!
With all that that has happened, 2020 has been marked by more visible uncertainty than previous years, and it has prompted many younger Americans to reevaluate their understanding of faith. According to Barna’s research, 1 in 5 churched Generation Z (22%) and Millennials (20%) agree that they are RETHINKING OR DRIFTING FROM THEIR FAITH practices.
