WE HAVE ALL POWER…

We need to be aware of the devil’s tactics and how to defeat his attempts to pull us away from God because, The thief (the devil) does not come except to STEAL, and to KILL, and to DESTROY. I have come that YOU may have life (zoe: real and spiritual life), and that YOU may have it more ABUNDANTLY (superior in quality).(John 10:10)

There is something very important for you to know before we go any further, Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give YOU the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY, and NOTHING shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:18-19)

Before we go on let Jesus know that you ACCEPT and RECEIVE this power from Him.

The Lord speaks this about Satan, “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established (created) you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till INIQUITY (sin) WAS FOUND IN YOU. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground…” (Ezekiel 28:14-17) The anointed cherub who covers, indicates that Lucifer held a position of superiority over all the other angels. Being the anointed cherub speaks of the highest position among the cherubim. The phrase that covered tells us that the cherubim overshadowed the Ark of the Covenant – a position next to the presence of God. The perfection of Lucifer is again stressed. There was no defect in him until HE CHOSE TO SIN. He, like everything God created, was perfect.

HOW YOU ARE FALLEN from heaven, O Lucifer (now Satan, the devil), son of the morningFor you have said in your heart:

  1. I WILL ascend into heaven,
  2. I WILL exalt my throne above the stars of God.
  3. I WILL also sit on the mount of the congregation.
  4. I WILL ascend above the heights of the clouds,
  5. I WILL be like the Most High.

(Isaiah 14:12-14)

From this passage we see a description of the original fall of Satan. We learn much about him as a person. He was the anointed cherub who had a special place next to the throne of God. Because of his special place, and his extraordinary beauty, he was LIFTED UP WITH PRIDE. This caused him to rebel against God, and to be judged for his sin. Of course, he became an enemy of God and our enemy but never, never forget that. “Behold, I give you the authority over ALL the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
