Paul asks a very important question, “Don’t you realize that all of YOU TOGETHER ARE THE HOUSE OF GOD, and that THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIVES IN YOU, IN HIS HOUSE? If anyone defiles and spoils God’s home, God will destroy him. For God’s home is HOLY AND CLEAN, and YOU ARE THAT HOME.” (1 Corinthians 3:16-17) The writer of Hebrews says, “Therefore, holy brothers, called to be partakers of the heavenly calling, CONSIDER (katanoein: fix our attention on Jesus in such a way that the divine lesson of our intimately knowing Him, may be experienced by us) the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, CHRIST JESUS…Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And WE ARE HIS HOUSE, if indeed WE HOLD FIRMLY TO OUR CONFIDENCE AND THE HOPE in which we glory.” (Hebrews 3:1,6)
God inspires David to make this incredible statement about us, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have MADE THEM A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS AND CROWNED THEM WITH GLORY AND HONOR. You made them RULERS over the works of your hands; you put everything UNDER THEIR FEET…” (Psalms 8:3-6)
Oh, if we could only grasp this supernatural and divine privilege we are given and to take advantage of the fact that we are, “called to be partakers of this heavenly calling.” We are “God’s House”, THE PLACE WHERE THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES, who desires to be in an INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP with us, if indeed WE HOLD FIRMLY TO OUR CONFIDENCE AND THE HOPE we have, in Him… How do we know this is true? “For God SO LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world MIGHT BE SAVED THROUGH HIM.” (John 3:16-17)
