“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has known what God has prepared for those who love him.” (Isaiah 64:4)
We do not have the ability to know or understand the Word of God! Paul says:
“No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden…” (1 Corin. 2:7)
You see, mankind has had this problem of trying to obey God for a while, then tempted to search elsewhere for pleasure and the doing the “your own thing” syndrome.
“A foolish person finds pleasure in doing evil things. But a man who has understanding takes delight in wisdom.” (Prov. 10:23)
The Lord has always had a desire to be in relationship with man so, how far was God willing to go?
“God loved the world SO MUCH that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life…He sent his Son TO SAVE THE WORLD through him.” (John 3:16-17)
God made a way for us to become His children and then to understand and know:
“…the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things GOD HAS REVEALED TO US BY HIS SPIRIT. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. (1 Corin. 2:9-10)
So, the way for us to understand God’s word is to ask forgiveness for our sins, accept Jesus Christ as our savior and become a child of God! This will open the way for God to reveal His word to us because He wants us to intimately know Him!
