The Lord makes this promise to His prophet Jeremiah, “For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, BECAUSE YOU HAVE PUT YOUR TRUST IN ME,” says the LORD. “ (Jer. 39:18) Jeremiah was treated horribly for telling the truth. “…they took Jeremiah and cast him into the dungeon which was in the court of the prison, and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire. So Jeremiah sank in the mire.” (Jer. 38:6)
In the midst of our trouble we must KEEP our faith in God… “Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to the captain of the guard, saying, “Take Jeremiah and look after him, and do him no harm; but do to him just as he says to you.” (Jer. 39:11-12) No matter how bad things get NEVER stop trusting God…
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS…” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
