Asa was king of Judah, “Then Jehoshaphat his son reigned…Now the LORD WAS WITH JEHOSHAPHAT, because he WALKED IN THE FORMER WAYS OF HIS FATHER DAVID; he did not seek the Baals, but sought the God of his father, and walked in His commandments… Therefore, the LORD ESTABLISHED the kingdom in his hand…And his heart TOOK DELIGHT IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD…” (2 Chronicles 17:1-6)
So many of the kings before him were evil, Jehoshaphat… “had the Book of the Law of the LORD and the priests; went throughout all the cities of Judah AND TAUGHT THE PEOPLE. And the FEAR OF THE LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah.” (2 Chronicles 17:9-10) The people all around trusted in God because of Jehoshaphat. “So Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me against Ramoth Gilead?” And he answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war.” (2 Chronicles 18:3)
Ahab had a group of false prophets who did what he said. They were all around spewing out “falseness” “Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not still A PROPHET OF THE LORD here, that we may inquire of Him?” Ahab said, “There is still ONE MAN by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him, because he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is MICAIAH the son of Imla.” (2 Chronicles 18:6-7) MICAIAH (Hebrew: Mīḵāyəhū “Who is like Yah?”), son of Imlah, is a prophet in the Hebrew Bible. He is ONE OF THE FOUR DISCIPLES OF ELIJAH and not to be confused with Micah, prophet of the Book of Micah. By now many of the false prophets were lying and telling Ahab how successful he would be but “Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD…the LORD said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab king of Israel to go up, then a spirit came forward and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ So, he said, ‘I will go out and be a LYING SPIRIT IN THE MOUTH OF ALL HIS PROPHETS… the LORD has DECLARED DISASTER AGAINST YOU. (Ahab)‘” (2 Chronicles 18:18-21)
“…the king of Syria had commanded the captains who were with him, saying, “Fight with no but only with the king of Israel.” (the king of Israel had disguised himself) Now a certain man drew a bow at random and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor.” He blead to death… (2 Chronicles 18:30-33) GOD’S WILL BE DONE!
