THE WORD, THE BREATH OF LIFE…

“…the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and BREATHED into his nostrils THE BREATH OF LIFE; and man became a living being.” (Gen. 2:7) God created man with extraordinary complexity, for example our DNA. Try holding a piece of string at one end, and twisting the other. As you add twist, the string creates coils of coils; and eventually, coils of coils of coils. Your DNA is arranged as a coil of coils of coils of coils of coils! This allows the 3 billion base pairs in each cell to fit into a space just 6 microns (that’s .00024 inches) across. If you stretched the DNA in one cell all the way out, it would be about 79 inches long and all the DNA in all your cells put together would be about twice the diameter of our Solar System.

The Spirit of God has made me, And the BREATH of the Almighty gives me life.” (Job 33:4) There is a cool song about the breath of God.

  • Mighty Breath Of God
  • Song by Chris Quilala

Blow, mighty breath of God
Move upon this place
Blow, mighty breath of God
Won’t you move in power and grace?

Likewise the Spirit (pneuma: Spirit or breath of God) also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.(Rom. 8:26) Why all this talk about the breath of God, well for one, it is life giving. And another very miraculous thing, is that when we read the WORD OF GOD, All Scripture is GODBREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, That the man of God may be perfect (artios), thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) Not only does God’s DNA get all up in us when we read His Words but the Greek adjective artios means “perfect” or “complete.”

The servant of God is made PERFECT BY THE WORD OF GOD.
