“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on EVERY WORD that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matt. 4:4) God has given us His very precious, powerful and precise Word. Regardless of the devils many attempts over the years, to destroy the Word of God, it has been very carefully preserved BY THE LORD. “The LORD said to Jeremiah…I am WATCHING TO SEE that MY WORD IS FULFILLED.” (Jer. 1:12) Just what does the Lord expect us to do with His Word? FALL IN LOVE WITH IT!!!
“…you shall lay up these Words of mine IN YOUR HEART AND IN YOUR SOUL, and bind them as a sign on your hand…You shall TEACH them to your children, speaking of them when you SIT in your house, when you WALK by the way, when you LIE down, and when you RISE up. And you shall WRITE them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them…” (Deut. 11:18-21)
Being IN LOVE with the word of God we should,
- READ our Bible every day. “…shall read it all the days of our life, that we may learn to fear the LORD God and be CAREFUL TO OBSERVE ALL the words of this law and these statutes, that our heart may not be lifted above others, that we may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that we may prolong our days in God’s kingdom…” (Deut. 17:19-20)
- MEDITATE on what we’ve have read. “…be strong and very courageous, that you may OBSERVE TO DO according to all the Word of God Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of God’s Word shall NOT DEPART FROM OUR MOUTH, but we shall MEDITATE IN IT DAY AND NIGHT, that we may OBSERVE TO DO ACCORDING TO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN IN IT. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Josh. 1:7-8)
- ASK the Holy Spirit to teach us what He wants us to learn. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and BRING TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE all that I said to you.” (John 14:26)
- PRAY the Scriptures. “I rise before dawn and CRY FOR HELP; I WAIT FOR YOUR WORDS.” (Psalm 119:147)
- THANK the Lord for His words. Through our knowledge of God from the Word, “…He has granted to us His PRECIOUS AND MAGNIFICENT PROMISES, so that by them you may become PARTAKERS of the DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” (2 Peter 1:4)
WE NEED A REVIVAL TO STIMULATE US TO FALL IN LOVE AGAIN WITH GOD’S WORD…
