“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON, whom He has appointed heir of all things, BY WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE WORLDS (aión: a cycle of time.)…” (Heb. 1:1-2)
OK, just how was this accomplished? “GOD SAID, Let there be…” (Gen. 1:3) 11 times this happened and everything that is, exists because “God said”. But, wait, the writer of Hebrews says that everything was MADE BY JESUS, “BY HIS SON…HE MADE THE WORLDS…” Yes that is true, God spoke and out of His mouth came the WORD OF GOD. “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD WAS WITH GOD, and the WORD was God (God the Son)…the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father (Jesus Christ), full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1, 14) Just so we’ll understand, John writes about what he saw in his revelation, “I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True…His name is called The WORD OF GOD.” (Rev. 19:11-13)
Paul says to the Colossians, “we do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding…Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For BY HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM AND FOR HIM. And He is before all things, and BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things HE MAY HAVE THE PREEMINENCE (superiority).” (Col. 1:9, 15-18)
What we have on our cell phones, our computers or even actually in book form is the WORD OF GOD! Every word DIVINELY INSPIRED AND TRUE, every word LIVING, every word POWERFUL, every word BREATHED OUT BY GOD. (2 Tim. 3:16, Heb. 4:12) There is no other book in existence like the Bible, it is the MOST POWERFUL FORCE IN EXISTENCE…
