“Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is OVERCOME BY SOME SIN, you who are godly should GENTLY AND HUMBLY HELP THAT PERSON BACK ONTO THE RIGHT PATH. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. SHARE EACH OTHER’S BURDENS, and in this way obey the LAW OF CHRIST. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.” (Gal. 6:1-3) OK AMY, What is the Law of Christ? Paul says, “When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ. But I do not ignore the law of God; I OBEY THE LAW OF CHRIST.” (1 Corin. 9:21)
Jesus said, “A NEW COMMANDMENT I give to you, that you LOVE ONE ANOTHER; AS I HAVE LOVED YOU, that you also love one another. By this ALL WILL KNOW that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35) Another way, AMY Jesus expresses the importance of this love, “One of the teachers of the law came and asked Jesus, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: Love the Lord your God with all your HEART, SOUL, MIND and STRENGTH.’ The second is this: ‘love your neighbor AS YOURSELF.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28-31)
The first two commandments are,
- “I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”
- “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
The reason Jesus stated it like He did, AMY is because His Agape love covers all, so the scripture says, “…let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER, for love comes from God…because GOD IS LOVE. God sent His one and only Son into the world…This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and SENT HIS SON AS AN ATONING SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS.” (1 John 4:7-10) Jesus came for the very specific purpose of being severely beaten for our healing and horribly crucified for our sins.
