The story of Queen Esther TOMMY, here is an abridged version: when the current queen, Vashti angers the king, he chucks her and picks a new wife from a selection of hot young women. Esther is the lucky girl, but she hides the fact she’s Jewish. When her cousin Mordecai, who had adopted her, angers Haman, an arrogant man who is the second in charge—the big bad of this story—Haman decides he’s going kill every Jew in revenge. So Esther throws a huge banquet where she reveals she’s Jewish and Haman wants her (and her people) dead. The king gets super angry, the Jews defend themselves against extermination, Haman ends up being hanged on the gallows he prepared for Mordecai.
“…the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who had conspired to ASSASSINATE King Xerxes. “What honor and recognition has Mordecai received for this?” the king asked. “NOTHING has been done for him,” The king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the palace to speak to the king about IMPALING MORDECAI ON THE POLE he had set up for him. His attendants answered, “Haman is standing in the court.” “Bring him in,” the king ordered.” (Est. 6:1-5) When Haman came in the King asked him what should be done to honor a man deserving it. Haman thinking it was himself described an elaborate scheme because he thought he was going to be honored. So the king ordered him to go do all that to Mordecai.
“So Haman got the robe and the horse. He robed Mordecai, and led him on horseback through the city streets, proclaiming before him, “This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!” (Est. 6:11) Then later at a banquet Queen Ester prepares, she says, I will tell you who wants to kill us, “King Xerxes asked Queen Esther, “Who is he? Where is he—the man who has dared to do such a thing?” Esther said, “An adversary and enemy! This VILE HAMAN!” Then Haman was terrified before the king and queen…So they impaled Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai. Then the KING’S FURY subsided.” (Est. 7:5-6, 10)
