“Bring ALL the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, 1TEST ME IN THIS,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you SUCH BLESSING That there will NOT BE room enough to receive it.” (Mal. 3:10) 1bâchan: to examine, try, prove.
Tithing is often a very misunderstood spiritual concept. You can find Christian teaching that’s all over the map when it comes to the tithe. Some say that tithing is just an Old Testament principle that doesn’t apply to in the New Testament time. On the other extreme there are people that say God punishes people today who don’t tithe. Some teach that “If you don’t tithe God will take it from you in other ways.”
When Abraham came back from a battle with many captured goods he was met by, “Melchizedek, who was the priest of God, blessed Abraham of God Most High, “Who delivered your enemies into your hand.” And Abraham gave him A TITHE OF ALL.” (Gen. 14:18-20) Those who claim that tithing is an old Testament law concept, haven’t looked at the above Bible verse, which was before the law! Some just just have hard hearts when it comes to giving. What about our tithing today? “But woe to you Pharisees! For YOU TITHE mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These YOU OUGHT TO HAVE DONE, without leaving the others undone.” (Luke 11:42) Jesus said you “ought” or must pay tithes and you must live justly and obey the 1st Commandment and Love God.
