“Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. LEAD ME IN YOUR TRUTH AND TEACH ME, For You are the God of my salvation; ON YOU I WAIT ALL THE DAY. Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your loving kindnesses…Good and upright is the LORD…” (Psa. 25:4-8) Lord, developing intimacy with you should be our goal because there is no one who knows WHAT YOU KNOW and there is no one who can do WHAT YOU CAN DO. So, as David says, show me your ways Lord and teach me your paths.
Moses prayed, “Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, SHOW ME NOW YOUR WAY, THAT I MAY KNOW (yâda‛: to intimately know) YOU and that I may find grace in Your sight.” (Exo. 33:13) What is the Lord’s way? It is a way of righteousness, “Blessed are those who HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, For they shall be filled.” (Matt. 5:6) It is a way of holiness, “…as He who called you is holy, YOU ALSO BE HOLY in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be Holy, For I Am Holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16) The word translated “holy” means sacred, morally blameless, consecrated, saint. God is looking for people who are consecrated or SET APART for His use. “…He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that WE SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLAME before Him in love… according to the good pleasure of His will…” (Eph. 1:4)
“…reckon yourselves to be DEAD INDEED TO SIN, but ALIVE TO GOD in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 6:11)
