TAKE UP YOUR BED AND WALK…

Now a man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him, and knew he had been in that condition a long time, He said, “Do you want to be made well?” The man answered, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up.” Jesus said to him, RISE, TAKE UP YOUR BED AND WALK. And IMMEDIATELY the man was made well…” (John 5:5-9)

What did Pool of Bethesda signify in Jesus’ time?  “…an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever stepped in first, WAS MADE WELL of whatever disease he had.(John 5:4) Now, along comes God The Son, who spoke everything that exists INTO EXISTENCE on the first 6 days, says, RISE AND WALKwhat else could happen but, IMMEDIATELY the man was made well! The Jewish religious leaders inquired who would so brazenly promote Law-breaking, the law forbids the carrying of one’s bed mat. The leaders that day were not interested in one who could do miracles or in actually doing the Word of God.

“If you love Me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTSHe who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and 1MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM.” (John 14:15, 21) 1emphanizō: to show oneself, come to view, to appear.
