SURROUNDED BY THE ENEMY…

The king of Syria sent horses and chariots and A GREAT ARMY to where Elisha was, and they came by night and surrounded the city. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, SURROUNDING THE CITY WITH HORSES AND CHARIOTS. And his servant said to Elisha, “Alas, my master! WHAT SHALL WE DO?” (2 Kings 6:14-15)

Whenever the king of Syria would make plans against Israel, God would tell it to Elisha, even if he spoke these plans in his bedchamber, Then Elisha would send word to the Israel’s king of this plan and it would fail. So Syria’s king called a meeting and said we must find the spy in our midst. One of the men there knew about Elijah and told the king so, he sent his army.

Elisha answered, “DO NOT FEAR, for those who are with us ARE MORE than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, OPEN HIS (Elisha’s servant) EYES that he may seebehold, the mountain was FULL OF HORSES AND CHARIOTS OF FIRE ALL AROUND ELISHA.(2 Kings 6:16-17) Elisha prayed for the enemy to be blinded, then he led them into Samaria, into temporary captivity, where they were fed and released and never attacked Israel again.

YOU ARE OF GOD, LITTLE CHILDREN, AND HAVE OVERCOME THEM, BECAUSE HE WHO IS IN YOU IS GREATER THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD. (1 John 4:4)
