“Who may go up the LORD’S MOUNTAIN? Who may stand in HIS HOLY PLACE? Only those whose hands and hearts ARE PURE, who do not WORSHIP IDOLS and NEVER TELL LIES. They will receive the LORD’s blessing and have a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God…” (Psa. 24:3-6) The question is AMY, who can draw near to our living God in worship? Who can climb their way to the summit of His dwelling place and gaze upon His beauty? Who, what’s more, could ever stand with God in His house? The Lord said this about Satan, “You were in Eden, God’s garden. I appointed an angel to guard you. You were on GOD’S HOLY MOUNTAIN.” (Ezek. 28:13-14)
Satan could not stay there because he was not PURE AMY, he put into practice IDOL WORSHIP and he is the FATHER OF LIES. So, as David did we must do, “I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption. YOU WILL SHOW ME THE PATH OF LIFE; In Your presence is FULLNESS OF JOY; At Your right hand are PLEASURES FOREVERMORE.” (Psa. 16:8-11) The Path of life is to live by faith, “for the Just shall live by HIS faith” (Hab. 2:4) Not ordinary human faith, the “HIS” in the prophecy is clearly a reference to the Lord Jesus. Habakkuk is comparing the proud with the meek, but it there is none as meek as the Lord, and so Paul writes, “For by grace you will be saved Amy, THROUGH FAITH, and that not of yourselves; IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD…” (Eph. 2:8)
