“Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and AVOID THEM. For those who are such DO NOT SERVE OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech DECEIVE THE HEARTS OF THE SIMPLE. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.” (Rom. 16:17-19)
TOMMY, New Age leader Neale Donald Walsch encouraged every pastor to preach this, “We must change ourselves. We must change the BELIEFS upon which our behaviors are based. We must create a DIFFERENT REALITY, build a new society…. We must do so with NEW spiritual truths. We must preach a NEW GOSPEL, its healing message summarized in two sentences: We are all one. Ours is not a better way, ours is merely ANOTHER WAY. This 15-word message, delivered from every lectern and pulpit, from every rostrum and platform, COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING OVERNIGHT. I challenge every priest, every minister, every rabbi and religious cleric to preach this. Paul said we need to avoid this kind of false doctrine…
THE PROBLEM WITH THIS FALSE DOCTRINE IS:
- WE CANNOT “CHANGE OURSELVES”: “do not be conformed (when we try to change ourselves), but be transformed (God miraculously changes to a new creation) by the renewing of your mind…” (Rom. 12:2) “…if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW.” (2 Corin 5:17)
- THERE IS NOT “ANOTHER WAY”: Jesus said, “I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
- WE ARE NOT ALL “ONE” UNLESS WE ARE SAVED OR BORN AGAIN: “…for you are ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS.” (Gal. 3:28)
- THERE IS NO “NEW” GOSPEL: “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to A DIFFERENT GOSPEL, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach ANY OTHER GOSPEL to you than what we have preached to you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.” (Gal. 1:6-8) WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH, WE ANCHORING OUR HOPES IN JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
