RETURN TO THE LORD…

“I am the LORD. I DO NOT CHANGE (shânâh: alter or modify). You have TURNED AWAY from my rules. You have NOT OBEYED them. RETURN TO ME.” says the LORD who rules overall. (Malachi 3:6-7) God is using Malachi to describe specific problems His people were having but we can see how this fits in to the Last Days Scenario. For example, in Revelation, Remember therefore from where you have fallen; REPENT AND DO YOUR FIRST WORKS. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand…” (Revelation 2:5) and then He says, Behold, I stand at the door and knock (I’m not even in the Church anymore). If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I WILL COME IN TO HIM…” (Revelation 3:20)

You see, the Bible is in some respects difficult because it deals with some very profound realities.  The infinite Creator of the universe and, of course, His relationship with us, His creation, is not merely involved in simplistic ideas.  The Bible may be so simple a child can understand it but, of course, it is also so deep a theologian can drown in it. The truth, in fact, is that Christianity is not a religion at all — it is THE REVELATION OF A REAL AND VERY PERSONAL, GOD with whom we can have an INTIMATE INDIVIDUAL RELATIONSHIP.

Call to Me, and I WILL ANSWER YOU, AND SHOW YOU great and mighty things, which you do not know.(Jeremiah 33:3) Jesus says to us, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN AND RECEIVE YOU TO MYSELF; that where I am, there YOU MAY BE ALSO.(John 14:1-3)
