POWER OVER THE DEVIL…

Jesus said, Behold, I give you Amy, the authority to trample on (to crush) serpents and scorpions, and over ALL THE POWER of the enemy, and NOTHING shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)

Serpents and scorpions are the devil and his demonic human agents. In Luke 10:19, Jesus Christ referred to demons as serpents and scorpions…remember how the devil appeared as a serpent in the garden to Adam and Eve.

The devil deceived Adam and Eve in the garden and took authority over mankind as a result, When Jesus came to restore that authority back to man, the devil TRIED TO DECEIVE JESUS TOO BUT HE FAILED, because JESUS RESPONDED TO THE DEVILS ATTACK WITH SCRIPTURE, Jesus said IT IS WRITTEN each time and quoted scripture.

WHEN THE DEVIL ATTACKED HIM:

  • Jesus had just fasted for 40 days the devil came and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” Jesus answered, It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on EVERY WORD that comes from the mouth of God.'” (Matthew 4:3-4)
  • Then the devil took Jesus to the Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’” Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'” (Matthew 4:5-7)
  • Next the devil took Jesus to the peak of a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and SERVE HIM ONLY.'” (Matthew 4:8-10)

Then THE DEVIL WENT AWAY, and angels came and took care of Jesus. (Matthew 4:11) The devil ran away Amy, because God’s word is “Living” and “Powerful” (Hebrews 4:12) So if you quote scripture when you are under attack – HE WILL RUN AWAY. I like to say this from the 23rd Psalm Yea, though I walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL; FOR (Jesus) YOU ARE WITH ME; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
