“…the word of God is ALIVE AND ACTIVE. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it 1penetrates even to 2dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12)
The word penetrates us, 1diikneomai: to go or reach through, 2merismos: a separation or distribution. The word goes through us to separate the difference between soul and spirit. The “soul” things are connected to the world around us and the “spirit” things are connected to God. The word reveals to us THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING CONNECTED TO GOD!
The word “judge” does not mean “condemn.” It means “assess.” When we show somebody a painting and say, “What’s your judgment?” we don’t mean, “What’s your condemnation?” We mean, “What’s your assessment of the quality? Is it good or bad?” So the Word of God penetrates to the deepest place in our lives and assesses what’s there. IS IT GOOD OR BAD? So, the word of God reveals to us where we are in our spiritual journey to eliminate confusion!
“…the god of this world [the devil] has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corin. 4:4)
The devil blinds the minds of unbelievers and tries to confuse the minds of Christians!!!
“…God IS NOT A GOD OF CONFUSION but of peace…” (1 Corin. 14:33)
