Its path obscured by winding turns and shadowed horizons, this NEW DAY stretches out before us WILL. As if we’re facing a bend in our path, our diary hides its entries from us, only to be revealed day by day as God’s grace meets us NEW EACH MORNING. “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are NEW EVERY MORNING; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lam. 3:22-24) What is our hope as we prepare to face this day? “Fear not, FOR I AM WITH YOU; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isa. 41:10)
So, just what should we expect from God for today? “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you A FUTURE AND A HOPE.” (Jer. 29:11) How will the Lord insure that future and hope for us??? “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He MAKES ME to lie down in green pastures; He LEADS ME beside the still waters. He RESTORES my soul; He LEADS ME in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I WALK THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For YOU ARE WITH ME; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. YOU PREPARE a table before me in the presence of my enemies; YOU ANOINT my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely GOODNESS AND MERCY shall follow me All the days of my life; And…
