“Since you have been RAISED WITH CHRIST, 1SEEK those things which are ABOVE, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is HIDDEN with Christ in God.” (Col. 3:1-3) 1zēteō: to crave or demand something. That’s what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.” But it was to us that God REVEALED these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and SHOWS US God’s DEEP SECRETS.” (1 Corin. 2:9-10) One of the “deep secrets” recently discovered is something called the Next Generation DNA Sequencing technology which is able to read the entire sequence of our DNA genes (all 3 billion pairs of As, Ts, Cs, and Gs). This is what makes us so UNIQUELY and PERFECTLY prepared for our calling.
When did this all take place?
“O LORD, you have examined my heart and know EVERYTHING about me…Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it…You watched me as I was BEING FORMED in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in my mother’s womb. You saw me BEFORE I was born. EVERY DAY of my life was recorded in your book. EVERY MOMENT was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!” (Psa. 139:1, 14-17)
The Lord has so very graciously prepared us with ALL WE NEED, for His purpose, for our lives for Him. We can USE it or choose to IGNORE it. He leaves that choice up to us! That is why we are encouraged to:
“SEEK those things which are ABOVE, where Christ is…”
