“The Lord will FIGHT FOR YOU; you need only to BE STILL.” (Exodus 14:14), “God is our refuge and strength, A very PRESENT HELP in trouble… BE STILL, AND KNOW that I AM God…” (Psalms 46:1, 10)
It might seem too amazing to be true, but the God of the universe wants to be our champion, THE WARRIOR who will GAIN VICTORY for us or GO THROUGH, “the valley of the shadow of death.” WITH US. While we know that He is mighty, we can sometimes FORGET TO CALL ON HIM in the midst of trials. And that is exactly when we need to LEAN ON HIM the most.
What is His greatest act of protective care? “…the Son of Man did not come to be ministered to, BUT TO MINISTER (diakoneō: supply the necessities of life) and to GIVE HIS LIFE A RANSOM FOR MANY.” (Matthew 20:28) This is how we really KNOW AND UNDERSTAND what love is, “By this we know love, because He LAID DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US. And we also ought to LAY DOWN OUR LIVES for the brethren.” (1 John 3:16)
We are so amazingly blessed and provided for by God who, “…so loved the world that HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in Him SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him MIGHT BE SAVED (sōzō: to divinely rescue from danger or destruction).” (John 3:16-17)
