What is our daily bread? When Satan tempted Jesus saying, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus gave this answer to the devil, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on EVERY WORD THAT COMES FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD.'” (Matthew 4:3-4)
EVERY WORD OF GOD IS:
- TRUTH: Jesus is talking to God the Father, “Your word is TRUTH.” (John 17:17) Jesus said, “I AM the way, THE TRUTH and the life…” (John 14:6) “It is IMPOSSIBLE for God to lie…” (Hebrews 6:18) “Every Word of God is PURE… (tsâraph: to test and PROVE TRUE)” (Proverbs 30:5)
- ALIVE: “The Word of God is LIVING…” (Hebrews 4:12) “…people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES (menō: not to perish, but to live) FOREVER.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)
- POWERFUL: “The Word of God is…POWERFUL…” (Hebrews 4:12) “…accept the word planted in you, WHICH CAN SAVE YOU (because of its power) Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. DO WHAT IT SAYS.” (James 1:21-22)
- THE BREATH OF GOD: “All Scripture is GOD–BREATHED (theo–pneustos: Gods breath. This verse is expressed as “given by inspiration of God” in most translations but the one Greek word used is, thespneustos) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17) When we take the Word of God and begin reading, the LIVING POWERFUL Word is being BREATHED into us by God. This is why God commanded Moses to teach the children of God to read the word FOUR TIMES A DAY! “…when you SIT in your house, when you WALK by the way, when you LIE DOWN, and when you RISE UP.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
- Most Christians today hear the Word of God ONCE A WEEK, the problem with that is the devil bothers us EVERY DAY, we only bother him back for a short time ONE DAY A WEEK.
- A LAMP TO OUR FEET: “Your word is a LAMP to my feet And a LIGHT to my path.” (Psalms 119:105) The very first thing in creation was “LIGHT” “Let there be LIGHT” (Genesis 1:3) This light was not to a physical light illuminate things, but a spiritual light to REVEAL spiritual things.
