“The LORD has been mindful of us; He will bless us…” (Psa. 115:12) David says, “What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet…” (Psa. 8:4-6) We are crowned with glory and honor because we are made IN THE IMAGE OF GOD.
Who is this ultimately referring to? “But WE SEE JESUS, who was made a little lower than the angels, for THE SUFFERING OF DEATH crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, MIGHT TASTE DEATH FOR EVERYONE.” (Heb. 2:9) You see, Jesus Christ is the SECOND ADAM, the new Adam, who has come to deal directly with what the first Adam brought upon mankind and could never defeat, NAMELY DEATH. “The first man Adam BECAME a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.” (1 Corin. 15:45)
When God created Adam, He created him as an ETERNAL BEING but Adam believed the devils lie, sinned against God and LOST his eternal life. That’s what made him just a living being. “…this is what God has testified: HE HAS GIVEN US ETERNAL LIFE, and this life IS IN HIS SON. Whoever has the Son has life (eternal life); whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12)
TODAY IF WE ASK AND RECEIVE JESUS IN OUR HEART, WE RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE…
