“…ALL HAVE SINNED and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation (hilastērion: to make favorable, referring to PREVENTING GOD’S WRATH against sinners) by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance (self-control) God had PASSED OVER the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier (dikaioo: to declare righteous) of the one who has faith in Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-26) Paul points out that Gentiles and Jews alike are sinners. The advantages enjoyed by the Jews, having been entrusted with the oracles of God, do not exempt them from the charge of sin. Furthermore, the fact that the Gentiles did not possess the Mosaic law does not exempt them from the charge of sin either. For the Gentiles sinned against the law of God which is “written in their hearts.” (Rom. 2:15)
All mankind was guilty of Adam’s original sin but because of Christs death on the cross, Adam’s sin was “passed over” and,
WE ARE ABLE TO BE DECLARED RIGHTEOUS WHEN WE REPENT.
