Selah” (Psa. 49:15) “John the Baptist, came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.” (Mark 1:4) As John was baptizing people he said, “I indeed baptize you with water, but Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And IMMEDIATELY, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the HOLY SPIRIT DESCENDING UPON HIM LIKE A DOVE. Then a voice came from heaven, “You are MY BELOVED SON, in whom I am WELL PLEASED.” (Mark 1:8-11) Here we see God The Father acknowledging the TRIUNE NATURE OF GOD…
On the day of Pentecost Peter was preaching…”For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, “‘The Lord said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”‘ “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: GOD HAS MADE THIS JESUS, WHOM YOU CRUCIFIED, BOTH LORD AND MESSIAH.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, WHAT SHALL WE DO?” (Acts 2:34-37) They all came under great conviction and their hearts were filled with godly sorrow, Peter said, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38) About three thousand souls accepted Peter’s message, were baptized, and added to their number that day Will.
